ACCOMMODATION / CATERING

The studio has accommodation for four people max. The bedroom has a kingsize bed which can be twinned and a double pull-out sofa bed. Various other types of accommodation are available within the village of Glenfinnan ranging from hotels to self-catering cottages. Suggestions and contact details can be found on our links page.

The studio has a very well equipped kitchen but just remember to bring supplies as the nearest shop is twenty minutes away in Fort William.

From March – November we are very fortunate to have a great choice of good quality eating places within the village and food is available up until 9pm. Outside catering can be also arranged to suit individual requirements. Please ask more if you would prefer this option.

RECREATION

We are situated in the stunning West Highlands so if hills and lochs are your thing you just need to step outside the door of the studio. The famous Glenfinnan Viaduct (Harry Potter) and Glenfinnan Monument are 5 minutes walk away and there are various pathways around the village for short or long rambles. Alternatively just pick a hill and go climb!  We also have bikes, fishing rods and a rowing boat for use.

More extreme leisure pursuits such as skiing, sailing, mountain biking and diving are available in and around Fort William. In fact since this area has been named The Outdoor Capital of the UK so you can take your pick. www.outdoorcapital.co.uk

Alternatively you can just chill out on the couch with a bottle of Glenfinnan Ale and watch TV!

BOOKING

The basic studio rental rate is £150 a day which reduces if more than 4 consecutive days used. This price includes rental of the studio spaces and access to the equipment but does not include a sound engineer.  Musicians can choose to bring in their own engineers or we can help arrange one from the list of people we work with. Prices vary – please enquire.

Reduced rates for hiring as a rehearsal space can also be negotiated so please contact us to ask.

Extra services such as availability of guest musicians/ producers etc. can also be discussed with us as can the arrangement of accommodation and food whilst at the studio.

LOCATION & HOW TO GET THERE

We are located approx. 20 minutes west of Fort William just off the A830 Mallaig road. From this direction take the first left after the Glenfinnan Monument (Slatach) and follow the road round (passed Glenfinnan House Hotel) until you come to the second entrance on your right. Parking is at the back and side of the studio.

By train
Glenfinnan sits on the famously scenic West Highland line (Fort William – Mallaig). Three trains run up and back to Glasgow every day via Fort William (except Sunday). The studio is just 5 minutes walk from the station and we can collect and deliver musicians if pre-arranged.

By bus
Citylink buses connect Fort William with Glasgow & Inverness. From Fort William link up with Shiel Buses which travel through Glenfinnan en route to Mallaig three times a day. www.shielbuses.co.uk

By helicopter (seriously!)
You can arrange with Glenfinnan House Hotel to land on their front lawn. From there it is 2 minutes walk to the studio.
